As of September 2020, Brazil has introduced a general data protection law (known as “LGPD”), heavily inspired by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The breakout session will cover the main similarities and differences between the GDPR and the LGPD. The session will also cover the Brazilian Data Protection Authority (BDPA) regulatory agenda of 2021-2022, published on January 27th, 2021.
