Julie Brill leads Microsoft’s global efforts to elevate privacy as a fundamental human right. Julie serves as a global authority concerning privacy; internet governance; telecommunications; accessibility; and corporate standards. Prior to coming to Microsoft, Julie served as a Commissioner of the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC), where she worked on issues of critical importance to consumers, including privacy, antitrust, fair advertising practices, and fighting financial fraud. While at the FTC, Julie was named “the Commission’s most important voice on Internet privacy and data security issues” and was most recently named a Top Data Privacy Influencer of 2020, among other honors.
