David Murakami Wood is Associate Professor and former Canada Research Chair (Tier II) in Surveillance Studies in the Department of Sociology at Queen’s University in Canada, and a member of the Surveillance Studies Centre there. He is a co-founder and Co-editor-in-Chief of the international journal, Surveillance & Society, and a co-founder of the Surveillance Studies Network (SSN). With Torin Monahan, he is the editor of Surveillance Studies: A Reader (Oxford University Press, 2018), and with David Lyon, Big Data Surveillance and Security Intelligence: The Canadian Case (UBC Press, 2021).
